c.1948 Lupor, No.62 City Cab Taxi in Original Box
Brilliant orange and yellow open air style mechanical City Cab Taxi manufactured by Lupor. Near mint condition! Comes complete with original box. Extensively lithoed toy shows several passengers plus driver in perspective. Views from the sides, front, rear, and through the roof are all correct to one another. Features embossed fenders, grille, and doors. Styled with late 40's sloping rear end and separately tabbed double side TAXI roof sign. Unusual salmon colored chassis is single plate, embossed and roll metal sealed to the body. Tires are solid rubber and key is attached. Works great! Original box features detailed, single color illustration of the cab. It correctly shows the wind-up key and exact litho details. Rarely seen Lupor trademark is also shown. Size: 7". Sold: Sep. 2006
